Joining Troop 45

A boy can join Troop 45 if he is 11 years old, or has completed the fifth grade, or has earned the Arrow of Light Award and is at least 10 years old, and is not yet 18 years of age. We need you to complete a Boy Scout application which the Scoutmaster can give you or you can download from this link. We also need a health history signed by your parent or guardian.

A small membership fee is due upon joining, and you can optionally subscribe to the Boy Scouts of America's magazine for youth, Boy's Life.

The troop collects dues each year to help defray the cost of buying awards and insignia. We will collect a prorated amount for dues depending on when during the year you join.

You will need to obtain a Boy Scout Handbook and a uniform. These can be purchased from the Scout Shop, just across the street from our meeting location. We will give you a troop t-shirt.

Finally, scouting is not just for youth. We encourage parents to become involved in our troop by joining the troop committee. The troop committee is a group of adults responsible for supporting the program of the troop. Talk to the Scoutmaster or one of the troop leaders about how you can help out.
